Frequently Asked Questions

YES

When you refer an assignment to another appraiser, there is no USPAP disclosure because you are not receiving an assignment.  Rather, you’re giving it to another appraiser.  Essence, in this instance, you have not taken on a client or an assignment, there is nothing on your part to disclose.

If another appraiser refers an assignment to you, and you choose to accept it, then you will simply disclose the fact that you accepted the assignment on a referral fee basis from another appraiser through ReferAppraisals.com, to which you subscribe monthly.   It is not necessary to disclose the amount of the referral fee from the other appraiser, nor the amount of the monthly subscription fee.

If, for whatever reason, you choose not to accept the referral, then don’t.
