Frequently Asked Questions
This membership site serves as a referral exchange platform for appraisers in the United States.
YES
When you refer an assignment to another appraiser, there is no USPAP disclosure because you are not receiving an assignment. Rather, you’re giving it to another appraiser. Essence, in this instance, you have not taken on a client or an assignment, there is nothing on your part to disclose.
If another appraiser refers an assignment to you, and you choose to accept it, then you will simply disclose the fact that you accepted the assignment on a referral fee basis from another appraiser through ReferAppraisals.com, to which you subscribe monthly. It is not necessary to disclose the amount of the referral fee from the other appraiser, nor the amount of the monthly subscription fee.
If, for whatever reason, you choose not to accept the referral, then don’t.

Terms and Conditions
Welcome to the Appraisal Referral Network. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Payment Terms
1.1. Referral Fees: Members who accept referrals are responsible for paying the agreed-upon fee split. The referral fee is based on the completion of the appraisal and payment from the client. Referral fees are only owed upon the successful completion and payment of the appraisal.
1.2. Fee Structure:
- Accepting appraisers will collect the full fee from the client.
- The Appraisal Referral Network will deduct 15% of the total appraisal fee as an administrative fee.
- The referring appraiser will receive 3% for Free members or 12% for Elite members.
1.3. Payment Timeliness: Payments to the referring appraiser and the Appraisal Referral Network are due immediately upon completion of the appraisal and receipt of payment from the client. Failure to remit the fees promptly may result in suspension or termination of membership.
1.4. Non-Payment and Collections: If payment is not made within a reasonable timeframe (defined as 30 days after receipt of payment from the client), the Appraisal Referral Network reserves the right to take appropriate collection actions, including but not limited to engaging third-party collection agencies or pursuing legal remedies. Any costs incurred for collections, including administrative fees and legal expenses, will be the responsibility of the defaulting member.
1.5. Non-Payment by Clients: If a client does not pay the appraisal fee or if the appraisal is canceled, no referral fees will be owed. The referring and accepting appraisers must update the status of the referral promptly to reflect the outcome.
2. Membership and Referrals
2.1. Membership Levels:
- Free Membership: No monthly cost, 3% referral fee.
- Elite Membership: $20 per month, 12% referral fee.
2.2. Referral Process: When a member cannot fulfill a client request, they may refer the appraisal to another appraiser in the directory. The accepting appraiser will take responsibility for completing the assignment and receiving payment directly from the client.
2.3. Administrative Fee: The Appraisal Referral Network will retain 15% of the total appraisal fee for administrative purposes.
3. Referral Disbursement
3.1. Disbursement Schedule: Referral fees are disbursed once the referral is completed and paid. The Appraisal Referral Network will distribute the 12% (Elite members) or 3% (Free members) referral fee to the referring appraiser and collect the administrative fee.
3.2. Notification: The appraiser accepting the referral must update the referral status and notify both the client and the referring appraiser at key stages, including acceptance, progress updates, and completion.
4. Non-Lender Referrals
Referrals through the Appraisal Referral Network are limited to private, non-lender appraisal requests. The platform is designed to connect appraisers for peer-to-peer referrals within the non-lender appraisal space.
5. Membership Cancellation
Members may cancel their membership at any time. If a referral is in progress at the time of cancellation, the member remains responsible for completing the assignment and paying all applicable fees.
6. Termination and Suspension
